connienParticipantInspired by Tino Sehgal engaged exhibition @ Palais de Tokyo, “Carte Blanche”
From the text:
Tino Sehgal challenges conventional museum exhibition precepts by placing a central focus on social interaction, rather than the inanimate object. His artworks are brought into existence through human capacities such as dance, speech and song, and are present during the entire opening hours of the show (from 12 October to 18 December). Often involving the visitors, each work has its own specific emotional and aesthetic nature. https://www.palaisdetokyo.com/en/event/conversation-3This explains what happened http://www.artnews.com/2016/10/25/living-memory-tino-sehgal-takes-over-pariss-palais-de-tokyo-with-300-performers-and-a-few-friends/
connienParticipantGreetings all from here in Chicago. Thank you for all of the inspirational material! I have been inspired by Ernesto Pujol, performance artist and social choreographer. Here is a video of him explaining his process for engaging with communities to empower them as collaborators while gaining a greater understanding of the place he is performing in/with.
