Outreach
Outreach involves creating the conditions for an encounter between a work and audiences.
Outreach is provided by various people: specialised audience relationship managers, communication teams, technical teams and the artists themselves.
In public space, outreach is often essential before an event and consists of laying the groundwork with the normal users (population, authorities). Participatory interventions require intense preparation before the presentation in order to recruit volunteers or participants. It is important to explain the context and reasons for their participation in order to ensure full involvement.
Performances that might disrupt daily life or enter into people’s homes also require suitable outreach actions.
