Eight cultural rights to examine in our practices – Anne Aubry

In this video, Anne Aubry, Project Manager at Réseau Culture 21, gives the broad definition of culture on which the understanding of cultural rights is based, and presents the conditions required to respect all 8 cultural rights set out in the Fribourg Declaration*.

*The Fribourg Declaration on Cultural Rights is the fruit of 20 years of work by an international group of experts known as the “Fribourg Group”. It follows on from work carried out by Group members with organisations such as UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. This Declaration on Cultural Rights lists and explains rights that are already recognised, albeit in a dispersed way, in numerous international instruments.
