In this video, Anna Giribet i Argilès, artistic director of Fira Tàrrega festival, presents the programme of artistic residencies organised in conjunction with the Fira Tàrrega festival. She claims that art in public space is a political act that defends cultural rights and questions the borders caused by language barriers. She lists several artistic projects that get populations moving, such as the show “Fugit” by Cie Kamchatka, where residents are placed in the position of migrants, or “Mission Roosevelt” by Cie Tony Clifton, about immersion in a wheelchair to test accessibility. Through these projects, she positions theatre as an engaged and engaging political act.
