Interview – Fanni Nánay

Fanni Nánay, manager artistic of Artopolis and director of PLACCC Festival in Budapest, explains the intentions of this festival, which now works to defend human rights and the values of tolerance, inclusion and diversity in a country that has adopted an authoritarian regime. It bears witness to these political developments in public space, which has become a place of political representation of power, and the growing fear of being able to express yourself, or even just be seen there. The collapse of financial support for the festival now makes its action an example of activism.
